The B.A.M.A is a totally independent governing body that was founded in 1979 by experienced British martial artist Pete Delane. We do not teach large groups, only small classes and private lessons ensuring you get the very best tuition. Our classes are suitable for both men and women. WHAT WE TEACH Bushido Karate - Using kicks, blocks, strikes, and punches to develop strength of body and mind in combat. Ken Kai Ryu (Japanese Sword) - The mystical weapon of the Samurai. Here you will learn to use it to calm the mind and relax the spirit. Aikido - Te - Harnessing the power of your opponents energy. You will use locks and subjugations to control an aggressive situation. Traditional Weapons - The Kobudo Weapons of Nunchaku, Tonfa, Bo, Baton, and Sai, are studied here alongside the unarmed arts. Zen Philosophy - Forge the power of the mind with the teachings of modern Zen. Learn to defeat stress and enjoy a peaceful existence. Modern Security Training - Here you will learn life saving skills in self defence and develop the awareness that is required of today’s modern Samurai.
