Based in Gedling and Carlton (Nottingham), Gedling Ballet School offers a high standard of dance tuition to children throughout Nottingham. A broad training is offered with Royal Academy of Dance Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Jazz and Tap classes, plus Pre School Dance Classes and Adult Ballet/Tap/Jazz. Classes are held at Gedling Memorial Hall, Main Road, Gedling, and at the Performing Arts Centre Wheldon School, Carlton. All students are invited to take part in the School Show held in recent years at the Nottingham Playhouse and Royal Concert Hall. The school is an active and friendly school with theatre trips, workshops with professional companies and in 2009 children performing with Northern Ballet Theatre at the Theatre Royal, in Fashion Shows with Tesco and Nottm Trent University. With a team that includes 5 experienced dance teachers, Gedling Ballet School has a professional team, qualified with the Royal Academy of Dance. Principal Dawn King is a member of the RAD Midlands and East of England Regional Committee. Gedling Ballet School has a successful track record. In 2009, 7 students offered Royal Ballet School Associate Places, 4 successfully auditioned for Royal Ballet Summer School. Over recent years scholarships for full time training achieved at the top vocational schools- Royal Ballet School White Lodge, Elmhurst Assoc. School of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, and Tring Park.
