Happydogsnortheast offers friendly one on one training and behaviour advice for pet dog s and their owners. All advice and methods employed are based on finding out what your dog wants (its toy, food, attention etc., to it a valuable resource). Then using this to reward and thus reinforce the dog’s behaviour. Too much time is spent working out how to stop a dog doing something we humans don’t like, instead of asking ourselves “Why is the dog doing this?” and thinking of a way to show it something else to do instead. Instead of thinking ‘how can we make the dog do this or that, why not ask ourselves how we can make the dog WANT to do this or that?
