Located towards the end of the Yealm Estuary that separates the popular villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers, if offers superb family sized accommodation, well equipped and in a fabulous location from which to visit the two neighbouring villages and the South Hams beyond. Private area of lawn opposite the cottage with garden furniture provided, overlooking the estuary with a slipway for launching boats/kayaks/paddle boards. Anchor Cottage is a peaceful base in a lovely setting for a relaxing break in Devon. The tiny, pretty village of Noss Mayo is hidden away on the southern bank of the Yealm Estuary and is home to two good pubs. Across the water is the larger village of Newton Ferrers, and you can get between the two villages by a causeway at low tide and a seasonal ferry that operates a triangular route and calls in at the SW Coastal Path, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. Newton Ferrers has a local butcher, chemist and Post Office. The village pub has fantastic views across the water towards Noss Mayo and the creek. The area is blessed with many walks that meander along the waterside and across the fields, while to the north Dartmoor's high tors and open spaces beckon those who love wild country. The city of Plymouth with its shops, Marine Aquarium and Barbican quayside area is just 10 miles away.
