What is Swedish Massage? In Sweden, Swedish Massage is simply known as classic massage. That is exactly what it is, classic treatment represents the western standard for massage. Swedish Massage is a variety of techniques, specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones by rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood to the heart. Main Purpose of Swedish Massage To increase oxygen flow in blood and release toxins from the muscles, stretches ligaments and tendons, keeping them supple, stimulates the skin and nervous system, reduces stress, emotionally and physically. Expectations Before commencing a massage treatment, I will need to gain a range of information from you by carrying out a consultation. This is to ensure that you are suitable for the treatment and to ascertain why you have come for the treatment, such as if you are suffering from stress and for ensuring that you have realistic expectations about the treatment. I will give you time to undress privately in the comfort of your own home and lie down on the massage table where you can cover yourselves with the provided towels. You do not have to be completely exposed at any one point, as I can uncover one little bit of you at a time, depending on the area of focus. I will discuss with you which oils or lotions to use depending on your skin type. These will be massaged into your body with a series of strokes and techniques. The treatment is very sensitive to pressure and takes into account delicate or tender areas of your body, so it should be comfortable and very soothing. All massage can leave you thirsty and needing to go to the toilet more than usual. This is because it is your lymph circulation going and your body flushing out toxins. Therefore it is important to drink plenty of water afterwards to help flush out the toxins. You will probably feel quite relaxed and maybe sleepy so it is important you give yourself plenty of time to unwind. Hours of Business With the luxury of being a mobile therapist means I am not tied to specific days and times, so I am very flexible working to the needs of my clients 7 days a week from early morning to late evening, understanding the commitments from working and family life.
